Nature Reserves
In Birmingham and the Black Country, our largest nature reserve is Park Hall - on the edge of Birmingham, with over a mile of riverside grassland, wetland and ancient woodland. Our smallest is Richmond Nature Garden, a community based project which includes a world garden, and green-oak shelter and striking environmental art.
Across the UK there are over 1,600 Wildlife Trust nature reserves that you can visit. These range from the tops of mountains to the seashore, from ancient woodlands to flower-filled meadows. Many have facilities such as nature trails and visitor centres. In the West Midlands there are some 250 nature reserves that members can visit for free, not least premier bird watching sites such as Brandon Marsh and Upton Warren.
In partnership with local authorities and friends groups the Trust is involved with many other local nature reserves across Birmingham and the Black Country. With your support we can establish more new nature reserves of our own and in partnership with others.
