People
Across Birmingham and the Black Country we work alongside locally based community groups, from those that care for nature reserves to resident’s groups that take an interest in looking after their local environment. We help people plan and undertake work to look after wildlife, assisting with practical projects and expertise, and running courses and events.
One of the Wildlife Trust’s greatest concerns is to ensure that everyone who lives in Birmingham and the Black Country has wildlife-rich greenspace in easy reach of home. Over the last five years we have helped with the creation of several Local Nature Reserves for the benefit of local people.
We support many groups with special interests such as mammals, amphibians, wildflowers, bats and insects. Trust members are welcome to join these groups, perhaps by starting with a taster session to introduce you to wildlife first hand.
Why not take part in one of our events to find out more about their local wildlife, and to take part in volunteer activities to look after local wildlife sites.
