Welcome to the WildNET Image Library
5 December 2007
The Image Library User Guide which explains how to work with and upload digital images is now available in the 'Uploading Images' section below.
30 November 2007
The Image Library now contains over 1500 images and is growing rapidly. A special thank you to Adam Cormack and Jack Guttery who have been instrumental in cataloguing and loading images into the library.
We have also simplified the Image Search and added support for higher resolution images (see below). The Image Galleries now show low resolution thumbnails of the images to allow faster page loading along with download links
Using the Image Library Tools
The images are easily downloaded (see below) and are licensed (see below) for use to promote the movement and suitable for use in documents and on websites. To work with images you may:
- Browse the galleries - for help see the Image Galleries user guide.
- Search for images - now simplified with download links and more image details.
- Search by location using Google Maps (currently only a small number of images are mapped)
- Discuss Images - what do you need or what would you like to see? Have you got images to share?
Future developments are likely to include the ability to add images from your desktop - end of 2007.
Downloading Images
You may download images from the Image Galleries by using the download button
. You should be prompted for a location to save the image locally..
Up to the 23 Nov. 2007 images which have been loaded on WildNET are generally 800 pixels wide and approximately 100Kb to 500Kb in size. From this date on images are being loaded at 1800 pixels wide which will allow a 6" wide photo at 300dpi. Images up to A4 size can be supported at 300dpi if required.
